Gone Baby Gone

With more and more movies coming out with rising issues of our ethics and moral issues which have been demoralized in our society. Some great other films for example the new release “Changeling” directed by Clint Eastwood, back to the past with “Clockwork Orange” directed by Stanley Kubrick. Gone Baby Gone should be ranked among one of the most elite that keeps you thinking after the movie of what the story displays. Now I am not placing Ben Affleck in that category as director…yet. He has been known to do one good film, and then have major suckage after. So we will see. I must say that Afflecks directing in this film really moved me from the beginning to the end. Affleck really has a knack for filming movies in Boston. SO I won’t be surprised to see more films with Boston as the background. Well hey, if it isn’t broke, why fix it?
This movie stars Casey Affleck as a private detective that specializes in finding lost ones. He is known for working with the locals, were the police disapproving of him, because “he gets in the way.” This story is about a mother whose child is missing and the sister and brother in-law hire him to help find Amanda McCready. With Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris in the film portraying police officers, the film has a kick of intensity and yet depressive motion.
This movie has its twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end and yet keeps you thinking of the moral decisions to ponder till the end. I really enjoyed Amy Ryan as the mother of the missing child. Even as a drug addict, who doesn’t have her knack together, shows the emotional wreck and find love only for her daughter when she was taken. I had mixed feelings about her, and you come to think by the end of the film “who’s the real villain in this film?”
This is one of those films, which are great to see, but may be one of those where you would only watch it once. Even though, I say that it is a must see. Casey Affleck gave one of his finest performances back in 2007, so it definitely is worth the under 2 hour film to see this theatrical and artistic imagery. So please check it out!
Movies I also recommend:
The Departed
Clockwork Orange
Changeling
Taxi Driver

I really liked this movie. Casey Affleck is really good and has surprised me more and more. On top of that, Ben Affleck is getting to be quite the director. I wish he'd stay out of the front of the camera and just focus on directing.
