PS I love You...maybe

I figured for a Halloween horror movie you’ll enjoy is PS, I Love you. I mean you can think that this movie is holy, but not in a spiritual sense but like Swiss cheese. It seemed like someone decided the most important part of this movie didn’t matter, and only the depressed state of a widow does.
This movie would not have disturbed me as much, till you see the all-star list of actors in this film. Here is a little for your taste. Gerard Butler, Hillary Swank, Lisa Kudrow, Kathy Bates, Gina Gershon, Harry Connick Jr….The movie starts out with Gerard Butler and Hillary Swank as the married couple in a fight going back to there apartment. Then the next scene is his funeral. There is no explanation, no storyline on “how he died” or nor anything throughout the whole movie! So by missing that, it was hard to sympathize with either Swanks character as the widow or Butler’s character.
So after his death, he started out letters to guide his wife on activities, and a journey that even leads her to Ireland with his girlfriends. Then her friends want her to “move on” and hook up with someone else. It was really weird.
The one weirdest character in the film, yet after seeing it, I think was probably the best part of the film was Harry Connick Jr. He was obsessed with Swanks character from the beginning, and while being so blunt and rude whenever he spoke, at least he gave some type of humor to this film.
Like I said in the beginning, this movie was like Swiss cheese and cheesy at the same time. It lacked a lot. I have seen a lot of films like this recently. It seems to me that either the directors, or film editors are missing the picture, or have forgotten how to story tell. I must admit, I thought that this picture had a great idea, but it was stale and was like a transmission on a car just misfiring its cylinders.
I guess if there was anything that I got out of the film was that all Irish men are sexy beasts that work with horses and can sing…so what does that tell us about the Danish men….we won’t go there…
But hey, I wish I could say that it was a little sappy, but I am sorry ladies, it even lacks that. So please save your coins and check out something else.
