The sequel or prequel to 300 is officially moving forward. Frank Miller is writing it and Zach Snyder plans to direct. Frank Miller was penning a follow-up graphic novel and when its complete he will look at it and see if it's adaptable. According to Legendary Pictures, “we want to be certain that the story originates with Frank and be as compelling as the first."
Jon Favreau acknowledged this week that it looks he and Marvel will work out a deal after all for him to direct IRON MAN 2. The sequel is still planned for summer of 2010.
Director Matt Reeves (CLOVERFIELD) says that the sequel to CLOVERFIELD is not happening anytime soon and is pursuing other projects.
Guillermo Del Toro says that once he finishes up work on THE HOBBIT films, he'd like to do a third Hellboy.
A tidbit leaked out from Gary Oldman about the next BATMAN after DARK KNIGHT. According to Oldman, “Maybe we don't need the Joker because we'll have The Riddler.” His statement was in response to the question by a reported asking how to continue the Joker story without Heath.
The GOON graphic novel series is being adapted to the screen. It will be a CG animated film and none other than David Fincher will be directing.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell are doing an untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy (no relation to the Warner Brothers Shelock Holmes drama that is being worked on currently). Cohen will play Holmes and Ferrell will play Watson in the comedy.
Helena Bonham Carter (SWEENY TODD, BIG FISH) is in talks to join TERMINATOR SALVATION. No word on what the role will be but it is said to be “small but pivotal”.
Christopher Guest is confirmed to be in the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM sequel. He will play Ivan the Terrible.
